Job Description
Are you a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) looking to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking dedicated RNs to provide high-quality mental health care in a variety of settings, including long-term care and acute treatment environments. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health conditions.
Opportunities are available in temporary, short-term, and long-term capacities. Nurses in this role may work in secured federal facilities, medically remote locations, industrial projects, or acute and long-term care settings.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct physical and psychiatric assessments for patient admissions.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Participate in Treatment Team Meetings to optimize interdisciplinary care.
Administer medications and monitor their effects.
Provide therapeutic interventions and crisis management when needed.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Advocate for patient rights and ensure a safe treatment environment.
Initiate protocols for emergency situations to prevent harm or injury.
Communicate with family members, advocates, and other interested parties while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Testify in commitment hearings when necessary.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
At least two (2) years of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.
At least one (1) year of experience in other assigned areas.
Experience must be in an inpatient setting (home health psychiatric nursing experience is not applicable).
Education & Licensure:
Active RN license in the state of New Hampshire with no prior or pending disciplinary actions.
New Hampshire participates in the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
Physical Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an indoor clinical setting.
Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.
Must pass a background check as required by the state of New Hampshire.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 (final compensation based on experience, skills, and market alignment)
