Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will possess a master's degree in public/environmental health, epidemiology, statistics/biostatistics, computer/data sciences, or a closely related health science degree. They will have intermediate or advanced proficiency in SAS, BASE, SQL, R, Tableau, or Geographical Information System (GIS) software. The preferred candidate will have a proficiency in the collection, management, linkage, and analysis of environmental and human health data. Duties Description The Research Scientist (RS) will participate in all phases of environmental, occupational, and reproductive epidemiological research. The incumbent will work under the technical direction of higher-level research scientists to better assist in research studies that monitor and evaluate the effects of exposure to toxic substances at home, work, and within the community. The incumbent will assist with exposure investigations and surveillance to help identify and reduce health risks within the public. They will also assist higher level scientists in data collection and organization, data linkage and analyses, and summarizing results through tables, graphs, and reports. The Research Scientist will have a background in environmental, occupational, reproductive epidemiologic research; exposure assessment; identification/ surveillance of adverse health outcomes; environmental risk factors; basic skills in statistical analysis; and a working knowledge of geographic information systems.
