Job Description

Caregiver needed for a couple (ages 96 & 95). The ideal candidate must be able to care for our clients and their property with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect. This person will encourage and remain empathetic to the clients at all times.

Responsibilities: 

 

• Home assistance – Provide light housekeeping, run errands or provide transportation if needed.  Accompany clients to appointments and assist with medications. Prepare meals, and provide personal assistance with general living needs.  Personal services could include toileting, bathing, feeding, and grooming.

• Companionship – Provide companionship and conversation by stimulating, encouraging and assisting an individual.

• Exercises – Assist with range of motion and strengthening exercises. Assist with walking and sit-to-stand exercises.

• Traits – Patience and genuine respect for the client and their values and preferences. Compassion and a willingness to foster the client's overall quality of life. Dependability especially in attendance and in carrying out duties according to given instructions. Attentiveness to routines especially exercise routine and overall personal hygiene and grooming routines. Trustworthiness. Ability to receive instruction and feedback with a positive attitude for learning. The ability to grow and make changes based on feedback. Willingness to handle conflict with open communication and a positive attitude. Overall pleasant and amenable attitude. Very good time management skills and ability to foster and support seniors in household routines.

Requirements: 

• CNA Certification
• Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
• Ability to walk 10,000 steps over an 8 hour period
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel and stand for a long period of time (sometimes)
• CPR / first-aid trained.
