Jedidiah Gallery & Design Store has been making art accessible to all ages and backgrounds since 2017. With locations in Manayunk and King of Prussia, PA, we're dedicated to enhancing physical and mental environments through art education and creative experiences.

Position Overview

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to support Tiantian's art classes at our King of Prussia location. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with young artists and wants to grow into an independent instructor role.

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 4 hours each day (8 hours/week) Compensation: $15/hour Location: King of Prussia, PA Position Type: Part-time

Career Growth Path

  • Phase 1 (Months 1-2): Teaching Assistant - Support lead instructor, learn curriculum and teaching methods
  • Phase 2 (Months 3-4): Senior Teaching Assistant - Lead portions of classes, develop lesson plans
  • Phase 3 (4+ months): Independent Instructor - Teach your own classes, develop specialized workshops

ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties

  • Assist lead instructor with art classes for students ages 5-18
  • Provide one-on-one support to students during projects
  • Prepare materials and set up classroom before sessions
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring learning environment
  • Clean up and organize supplies after classes
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

Required QualificationsMust Have

  • Teaching experience with children ages 5-18 (classroom, tutoring, camps, or similar settings)
  • Genuine passion for art education and working with young people
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple students with varying skill levels
  • Reliable weekend availability (Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching adults (workshops, community classes, or studio instruction)
  • Background in fine arts, art education, or related field
  • Experience with multiple art mediums (drawing, painting, mixed media, etc.)
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching techniques
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
