Position Overview:

Location: Fully Remote
School Year: 2024-2025
Contract Type: 1099 Contract Role
Caseload: Specific details will be shared during the interview process
Support: Work with students with diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Manage IEPs: Design, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs for students, collaborating closely with families, administrators, and other professionals.
Assess and Adapt Instruction: Use a variety of assessment tools to track student progress, modifying teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Create an Inclusive Virtual Classroom: Foster a supportive and engaging online learning environment that encourages active participation from all students.
Collaborate with Team Members: Partner with general education teachers and other specialists to ensure students receive the right accommodations and inclusive support in mainstream classes.
Diversify Teaching Methods: Utilize a range of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring the success of every student.
Track and Report Progress: Maintain comprehensive records of student progress, behaviors, and achievements, sharing updates with families as necessary.
Engage with Parents and Guardians: Build strong, open communication with families to keep them informed and involved in their child's education.
Ongoing Professional Development: Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and other professional growth opportunities to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
Active Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain one in your state)
Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
Previous virtual teaching experience is a plus but not required
Strong passion for professional growth and a commitment to staying current with trends in special education
