Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Senior Psychologist Supervisor in the Patient Management Unit (PMU), the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker is responsible for serving in a lead capacity, providing oversight of processes related to the statewide Lanterman-Petris-Short Act (LPS) population including centralized pre-admission services, centralized support for discharge planning services, and will serve as a clinical liaison with county stakeholders, DSH facilities, and internal DSH partners. The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker will provide clinical support to the Chief Deputy, Operations, and division leadership related to the department’s memorandum of understanding with CalMHSA. The incumbent will provide clinical support to DSH legal related to the LPS population and will serve as a subject matter expert supporting technology solutions facilitating LPS pre-admission and discharge processes.

Working Conditions

• A majority of the essential functions of this position may be performed via telework and/or flexible scheduling in accordance with DSH PD 5338. Although the ability may be granted, incumbent must be available to report to in-person mandated trainings and essential meetings. Up to 5% statewide travel may be required.

  All commute expenses to the Sacramento location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

• DSH-Sacramento is located at a new 11 floor high rise building.
• This position is not eligible for Safety Retirement Pay.
