The Family Birth Center in La Crosse Wisconsin provides an exciting opportunity for a Surgical Tech (ST) interested in obstetric and maternal/newborn care. The responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting in OR procedures (c-sections), vaginal deliveries, and care of mothers, babies, and families. In addition to the direct patient care aspects, the Family Birth Center provides a strong teamwork atmosphere as this ST role is an integral part of the care team who work closely with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and registered nurses in delivering patient care before, during, and after surgery. Their primary responsibility is maintaining the sterile field and being constantly vigilant that all members of the team adhere to aseptic technique.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Certification as Operating Room Technician preferred. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrates effective communication skills. Displays professional/responsible/accountable attitude and behavior.

Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS – certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.
