Thermal Engineer :


Location : Spring, TX

client is seeking a Thermal Engineer with tech experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design engineering solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established principles
• Develop and implement parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, fan curves, system power measurements, and acoustics
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop optimal platform design architecture and innovative concepts using the latest technologies based on marketing requirements
• Communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
• Lead projects and collaborate with internal and outsourced partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for moderately complex products
• Represent the thermal team in all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
• Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into thermal design projects through hardware and firmware developments
• Lead proof of concept (POC) initiatives with hardware and firmware/software development to validate new technologies for future products
• Utilize subject matter expertise to address complex business issues within established guidelines, recommending appropriate alternatives
• Work on diverse problems, leading the development of next-generation notebooks, mobile workstations, docking stations, and mobile computing solutions
• Act as a team or project leader, facilitating team activities and decision-making processes
• Exercise independent judgment within defined policies to identify and select solutions, seeking advice for complex issues when necessary
  
  
  
  Primary Skills

* Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal fluids


* Typically, 5-10 years experience * Strong analytical and problem solving skills


* Strong understanding and experience in electronics packaging


* Experience with fan, heat pipe, and vapor chamber design


* Experience using various thermal interface materials


* Experience relating skin temperature, acoustics, and system performance


* Using Flotherm, Ansys or other thermal CFD modeling tools


* Using CFD and thermal mockups to validate thermal solution


* Designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language


* Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
