ABOUT THE JOB
We are reimagining health insurance with straightforward pricing and $0 out-of-pocket costs for baseline visits. Join us in creating a better healthcare experience by making it easy and intuitive for members to access the care they need. We are seeking an Underwriter Analyst to support our pricing and underwriting processes. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, just a willingness to learn.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calculate new business and renewal rates for group cases, considering various factors such as group experience, industry trends, location, and demographics.
  • Assess medical conditions, treatments, and pharmaceutical use to determine risk levels.
  • Review new business proposals for accuracy and adherence to underwriting policies.
  • Lead peer reviews to ensure accurate and appropriate quotes.
  • Coordinate with the Sales team for timely quote delivery and act as a financial consultant for specific requests.
  • Maintain and update underwriting documentation, including policies and training manuals.
  • Develop and monitor claims experience reports for retrospective rate reviews.
  • Validate contract terms align with quoted parameters during client contracting and setup.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
  • Experience with Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, data analysis, or data management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries is a plus.
