Collaborate with backend developers, SEOs, social media managers and visual designers
Routine daily/weekly/monthly maintenance of existing sites and applications, usually WordPress
Develop web pages and supplementary websites as needed, usually WordPress
Creation of site layout/user interface from provided design concepts by using standard HTML/CSS practices
HTML5/CSS3, with a good understanding of jQuery/Javascript, how WordPress works and WordPress theme design and development
Placement and layout of web site pages given provided content
Development of robust and user-friendly web applications
Proactive and reactive support for the Marketing group and clients
Specifications/Requirements gathering as needed
Communicate project status and deliverables to the OBX Media team and clients
Other duties as assigned
Excellent written and oral communications skills required for day-to-day interaction within cross-functional, team environment
Creative, self-starter, self-motivated and able to work with little guidance in an organized and efficient manner
Must be able to think on your feet and for yourself
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; Recent graduates accepted
1-2 years of experience in web development, using WordPress, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, MySQL preferred
A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures
Development to support SEO best practices and be able to come up with fresh new strategies to help better market clients’ websites online
Strong organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete multiple tasks quickly within provided timelines
Ability to grow professionally in a highly flexible and fast-moving environment
Familiarity with Git version control system a plus
PHP/MySQL experience as well as a solid understanding of Object Oriented Design and Programming are a plus
