The Headlines :  

In the Heavy Equipment Operator - Temporary role at Shenandoah Brewery working in Elkton, Virginia you will be part of the brewery customer service team.  The Heavy Equipment Operator - Temp position is responsible for the movement and spotting of containers to facilitate the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage, for thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning, and for performing the following duties.

This position reports to the Process Leader within Customer Service and works closely with warehouse, dispatch, brewery and packaging departments.

The Responsibilities:  

• Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous roll-on/roll-off procedures daily involving loaded and empty containers.
• Drive and operate Yard Truck in a safe manner, under 10 mph in and around the plant and storage lot/staging area.
• Be cognizant that the Yard Truck vehicle operation is a low mileage severe duty function that requires particular attention to preventive maintenance checks and services as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Regularly inspect vehicle and report any vehicle maintenance issues.
• Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant needs.
• Must function and interact with plant personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.
• Communicate with dispatch, operations, and plant personnel using cellular telephone or 2-way radio.
• Requires ability to update transactions in SAP.
• Responsible for and dedicated to personal and team safety in relation to completion of tasks and duties.
• Responsible for and dedicated to quality in relation to completion of tasks and duties.
• Responsible for any other duties and tasks as assigned by Management.

The Other Qualifications:   

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent
• You have a Class A CDL License OR equivalent experience (2+ years) working as a yard truck driver
• You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities
